Claims Process


How To Make A Claim

Managing claims efficiently takes qualified and experienced professionals. For this reason, we have appointed the specialist Claims Management Company, AutoProtect (MBI) Ltd.

If you need to make a claim, you should contact us before accepting an offer of settlement with your motor insurer. We may at our discretion negotiate with the motor insurance policy insurer on your behalf. If you accept an offer of settlement with your motor insurance before you contact us we reserve the right to reduce the settlement amount under this policy.
 
Policies Purchased on or After 01/05/2021
  • Visit www.apapp.co.uk and simply follow the steps to start your claim.
  • Alternatively, you can download the AutoProtect App on your smartphone by searching "AutoProtect GAP".
  • Or simply text the word APAPP to 88802 and you will receive a download link via SMS (Texts are charged at your standard network rate).

Please ensure that you contact AutoProtect (MBI) Ltd. via the website or the app within 90 days of the total loss.

You will be asked to provide:

  • The cause of the total loss.
  • Your original invoice details the original price if you didn't use a finance agreement to fund the purchase of the car.
  • Proof of payment of the appropriate premium or premium instalment in respect of the policy via a supplementary invoice supplied by the retailer.
  • Valid crime reference number.
  • Details of the finance settlement amount including the outstanding balance, remaining term, interest charges, etc. 

Policies Purchased Before 01/05/2021

At Click4GAP we keep our claim process as straightforward as possible. All our claims are handled over the phone, so if you're unlucky enough for your car to be declared a total loss, then simply contact the claims team within 30 days of the date of loss. You will be asked to provide:

  • V5.
  • UK Motor dealer invoice (where applicable).
  • Finance agreement or contract hire/ lease agreement details and settlements (if benefits selected).
  • Details of the comprehensive motor insurance policy
  • Your driving licence.
  • A valid crime reference number.
  • Valid MOT certificate (not required if under 3 years old).
