European Emission Standards Spell Disaster For Honda Civic Type R

European emission standards is the tool used to define the acceptable limits for exhaust emissions of new vehicles sold in EU member states. The latest standard is Euro 5 and this will affect only new vehicles produced and sold abroad. The current Honda Type R does not meet the latest EU emissions critera.

According to many news sources online, Honda has decided to stop production in its Swindon factory in October with sales set to cease in December this year.

Honda say that the Honda Civic Type R will still be produced for export to Australia and South Africa where the Euro 5 does not exist.

Honda say that a new Civic is expected next year some time, but will it really be as exciting or as powerful as this one is? Only time will tell.

On the plus side, expect some terrific finance deals on to become available during the coming months as Honda and new car dealerships sell up their European stocks, and don't forget that provide the most competitive deals on Honda Gap Insurance and we would most certainly be able to beat the most competitive new car dealership gap insurance deals offered. - 0844 357 8300
